Silverman Preschool and Ginsburg Infant Center are rooted in Jewish traditions, fostering a strong and connected community while nurturing the next generation through a high-quality, play-based early childhood education.
For nearly 50 years Silverman Preschool has nurtured relationships with parents, children, and the community as we seek to develop the whole child. We create learning opportunities to develop the social-emotional, cognitive, and physical skills needed in all stages of life. Developmental milestones such as playing with others, learning to communicate, and reaching academic goals are achieved through play and exploration.

Silverman Preschool is a place where children are valued for their ability to do meaningful work, their wonder and curiosity and their perspectives. Staff is valued for their vision, heart, knowledge, and commitment to our families. Families are valued for their bonds and traditions, their commitment to work, home, and community, and their dreams for their children.
Mission
The mission of Silverman Preschool at Tifereth Israel Synagogue is based upon the belief that our children are our most precious resource. We strive to create a warm, positive Jewish environment for learning and development. This program is committed to enhancing the development of the CHILD, the FAMILY, and their relationship to the COMMUNITY.
Child
Silverman Preschool recognizes each child as a unique individual and encourages them to explore new experiences with confidence. We strive to foster a positive self-image, a sense of self-accomplishment, and confidence in their abilities. Through meaningful experiences and positive role models, children develop a strong Jewish identity rooted in ethical values, community, and lifelong learning.
Family
Silverman realizes that children learn from everyone around them. Strong family programming allows the child and the family to share the experience of learning basic Jewish concepts as well as participating in hands-on activities relating to Jewish culture, holidays, and rituals. It takes a village to raise a child, and Silverman considers it a privilege to be part of your village.
Community
Silverman believes that it is important for children to expand their horizons and learn from the world around them. Group experiences beyond the immediate family are a vital part of life and that each child should have the opportunity to discover the meaning of being part of that larger community through Judaic and secular pursuits.

Curriculum
We foster the social-emotional, cognitive, and physical development of children through an emergent curriculum with an emphasis in play-based learning. Teachers observe and gauge children’s interests when deciding what materials and learning tools to provide children with each month in relation to the monthly theme. Teachers allow children the flexibility to use their creativity and to lead the way with teachers as collaborators in the learning process.
Judaica
As a Jewish preschool, we incorporate Jewish holidays, customs, and traditions in our curriculum. In addition to our enrichment activities, we learn one Hebrew word a week, and there is a table in every classroom dedicated to that month’s Jewish holiday and/or activity.
Music & movement
Music and Movement is a joyful and engaging part of our preschool experience. Children explore Jewish holidays, traditions, and Shabbat through song, dance, rhythm, and interactive activities that encourage participation and creativity. Our Music & Movement specialist visits weekly to lead energetic and educational sessions, and our Rabbi joins the children each week for music-filled experiences that help bring Jewish values and celebrations to life. These meaningful experiences foster a love of music, strengthen classroom community, and create lasting connections.
Meals & snacks
All children bring their own lunch and snacks daily. Lunches must include vegetarian options only, eliminating any meat products (chicken, turkey, beef, pork). Fish is permitted (no shellfish). Classroom allergies will be communicated at the start of each school year.
