Infant Care and Toddler Program

6 weeks-23 months

Nurturing trust, curiosity, and a love of learning

Our Infant Care and Toddler Program provides a warm, loving environment where children feel safe, secure, and celebrated. Through responsive caregiving, meaningful relationships, and play-based exploration, we support each child's natural development while honoring their individual pace.

Rooted in Jewish values of kindness, community, and respect, our classrooms are filled with songs, laughter, movement, and joyful discovery. Every cuddle, every conversation, and every moment of play help children develop a strong sense of trust, belonging, and confidence.

Curriculum

Our Infant and Toddler curriculum is inspired by the belief that play is a child's first language. Learning is woven naturally throughout the day and focuses on the whole child. Rather than rushing developmental milestones, we celebrate each child's unique journey, providing opportunities to explore, experiment, and grow with confidence. Our curriculum emphasizes:

  • Secure relationships and emotional attachment
  • Language development through songs, stories, and conversation
  • Sensory exploration and discovery
  • Fine and gross motor development
  • Early cognitive development and problem-solving
  • Self-help skills and growing independence
  • Social interactions and cooperative play
  • Music, movement, and creative expression

Throughout each day, infants and toddlers explore a carefully prepared environment designed to encourage curiosity and independence. Whether stacking blocks, feeling different textures, listening to music, splashing in water, or enjoying outdoor adventures, children are learning through meaningful experiences that engage all their senses. Our teachers thoughtfully observe each child's interests and developmental milestones, providing individualized support and encouragement along the way.

The Silverman difference

At Silverman Preschool we believe caring for infants and toddlers is about so much more than supervision. It is about building trusting relationships, creating a sense of belonging, and giving each child the security and love they need to explore the world with confidence. Our nurturing environment is designed to help children feel deeply loved, respected, and valued from their very first days with us. Our goal is not simply to prepare children for preschool. It is to cultivate the confidence, curiosity, resilience, and joy of learning that will support them throughout their lives.

At Silverman Preschool, your child will experience:

  • Small class sizes that allow teachers to form genuine, meaningful relationships with every child.
  • Individualized care that honors each child’s unique developmental journey, routines, interests, and needs.
  • A nurturing Jewish environment where traditions, songs, values, and celebrations are woven naturally into everyday experiences.
  • Strong family partnerships built through open communication, collaboration, and a shared commitment to each child’s well-being.
  • Experienced, caring educators who recognize that every interaction—from a warm greeting to a shared story or moment of discovery—is an opportunity to connect, encourage, and learn.

A program designed for families

We know choosing your child's first school is one of the biggest decisions a family makes.

Our year-round infant care and toddler program offers consistency and stability for both children and parents. Familiar teachers, predictable routines, and a caring community help children transition smoothly through each stage of development while giving parents peace of mind throughout the workday.

We believe families are a child's first teachers, and we value the partnership we build together. Daily communication, celebrations, and shared experiences create a strong connection between home and school, ensuring children feel supported wherever they are.

Based in San Diego, we serve families in San Carlos, La Mesa, Del Cerro, Allied Gardens, Fletcher Hills, College Area, Santee, and surrounding communities.
