The foundation for a meaningful Jewish Experience

Tifereth Israel Synagogue is a Conservative congregation in San Diego with a unique history dating back over 100 years. We strive to provide a community large enough to offer diversity, allowing individuals to find their niche, while continuing to be warm and personal – like family. Our congregation is welcoming to all, including interfaith families, same sex couples and those who identify as part of the LGBTQIA+ community. Visitors are always welcome to attend our services and programs, and experience the warm embrace of our congregation.

Passover 2024, Second Seder, and more with TIS

Tifereth Israel looks forward to welcoming Cantor Hanan Leberman, his wife Ariel, and their family back to TIS from Jerusalem. We are thrilled to have them join us for Passover.

Rabbi Matt and Cantor Hanan invite you to join us for a fun, engaging, musical, and meaningful Passover Seder. Together, we’ll retell the story of our liberation from Egypt and celebrate the festival of freedom.

Passover is the most widely celebrated of all the Jewish holidays. While the celebration and the foods may differ from home to home, or community to community, it is absolutely a cornerstone of our tradition.
