Adult Education

Rabbi Hillel says ...do not say 'When I am free I will study', for perhaps you will not become free.

Pirkei Avot 2:6

When Hillel couldn't afford to attend school, he would climb the roof and listen to lessons through an open window, even during the harsh winter months. He understood that even the most challenging circumstances were not insurmountable to someone who truly wishes to learn. This year, even if your schedule is already busy, experiment with carving out time for a learning opportunity that you've wanted to explore. Click here for details.

Throughout the year we'll offer various opportunities to further your knowledge or, for some, begin their journey. If you have any questions, email Beth or call her at 619 697-6001, ext. 108 and leave a message.

These opportunities do not require registration.

Rosh Chodesh

The first of each Jewish month—the celebration of the new moon, its slender crescent barely visible in the night sky—is a day historically associated with women’s renewal and celebration. In recent decades, Rosh Chodesh has become an occasion for Jewish women to gather for learning, ritual, and spiritual exploration, and to mark life passages.

We have women of all ages regularly join us. We believe that our diversity is our greatest strength and allows us to learn and grow from one another. Our Rosh Chodesh group meets monthly, in various homes, and offers women an exclusive and meaningful opportunity.
