As a community, we can make a difference in the lives of many. Whether it’s one of our ongoing projects or a time specific opportunity, your support is needed and appreciated.
Shabbat Hot Lunch - Volunteer...Lend a Helping Hand
Shabbat Lunches have become a favorite, and we’re grateful for the enthusiasm around them. If you've enjoyed them, or just want to offer to assist...
We need more volunteers!
We’re looking for volunteers who can share 45 minutes on Shabbat to assist with setup or cleanup.
Blood Drive
Throughout the year, TIS hosts Blood Drives to aid in the ongoing national blood crisis. Your donations can change/save lives.
The dangerously low blood supply levels have forced some hospitals to defer patients from major surgery, including organ transplants. Your donation is desperately needed.
We're asking you to participate in giving the gift of life. The San Diego Blood Mobile will be set up in our parking lot, fully equipped, and ready to take your donation.

Ongoing throughout the year
Cook it Forward
Whether our members are experiencing challenging times or the joy of welcoming a new little one, sometimes a nice meal just warms the heart.
What is needed?
Monetary contributions! After that, we’ll do the cooking and delivering! In addition, if you'd like to be on our "call list" for helping to prepare food (in a gathering at TIS or at home), let Beth know by email or call her at the office.
How can you make a donation?
- Make an online donation to the TIS General Fund and indicate “Cook it Forward” in the space for additional remarks or instructions.
- Send a check made out to TIS and indicate that the contribution is to support “Cook it Forward.”
- Call the office at 619 697-6001.
Food Bank at TIS
Our collection barrel is available throughout the year. During normal business hours you may leave your donations with our guard. If you’re coming to TIS for a meeting, services, Preschool, or Torah School, feel free leave your contributions in the barrel located in the foyer. Items do not need to be kosher. Collected items are shared with JFS Hand Up Food Pantry and Take What You Need.
